My Awesome Husband!

O.k. I'm going to brag for a minute.  I have the most amazing husband on the planet!  Not only is he cute and sweet, but he's smart, funny and nice, too!  AND he puts up with me.  Now that is just amazing!

Yesterday, Jerry graduated from the Warrior Leadership Course here at Drum.  It is also called the Non-Commissioned Officer Acadamy.  Basically, if you want to make Sergeant and advance, you have to take this class.  Or if you have already been promoted, you have to take this class. 

It is a hard course.  Everyone says so.  AND they decided to cram what was a 28 day course into 15 recently.  So guess what... longer hours and more stress all in a short period of time.  My poor husband was leaving the house around 3:30ish in the morning and getting home aroun 8 p.m. every night.  Including weekends.  :(  The 2nd weekend he just didn't come home.  They had to go into the field and do missions.  (He loves that part, btw.  They all do.  Especially when its just training and not real.  Boys with toy, you know?) 

Now, my Jerry stresses everything.  We both have confidence problems, but Jerry more so when it comes to school stuff.  I was always good at school, so my confidence problems come with people skills.  Anyway.  You can imagine how he was for the last 2 weeks or so.  I am SO. GLAD. ITS. OVER!  He would come in, not even acknowledge me and start working/studying.  Then about 20 minutes later, he would remember I was there and come kiss me.  I just laughed.  I know him well enough to not be offended and not bug him about it.

However, all of the stress and hard work was rewarded yesterday when they announced the Distinguished Honor Graduate of the class.  (Valedictorian if you're civilian.)  It was Jerry!  We weren't expecting it!  He didn't go to the mock panel or anything else, so we didn't think he got it. 

He received several plaques, a very nice statute, a gift card, some other perks and a 1 night free stay at Days Inn here in Watertown.  I told him the hotel stay is my reward for going through it with him!  LOL
