Gabriel had a play date yesterday! Its not really his first since we go places with Aiden quite often, but this is the first time I dropped him off to play with a group of boys and left. Yesterday, I was talking to Wendy in the morning and working out babysitting plans with each other. (Having friends to trade babysitting is the best thing in the world in my opinion... not that I am not willing to further the financial gains of a teenager. We are just broke most of the time!)
Anywho... I was talking to Wendy and said that we had opted not to go to Irish Fest since it was supposed to rain and such. I mentioned that we were going to run some errands and come home. She said the words I love to hear... "Do you want to drop Gabriel off to play with Corban while you guys shop? Sandy's boys are coming to play, so 1 more will not be a problem." I LOVE Wendy! Yes! I would love to shop without Gabriel! LOL (There was mention made of me getting a shower in record time after I hung up the phone. LOL)
Gabriel has decided recently that he's not much of a shopper, so taking him to the mall can be rather painful. And so I just have not gone. However, Jerry needed a new duffel bag to take his change of uniform, etc., to and from work. Gabriel needed shoes to go with his Easter outfit. I wanted to see if Verizon was lying to me about my phone upgrade being free. And I wanted to look at shelving for the knitting closet.
We were able to get all of our errands done and Gabriel had a blast playing trucks with Corban, Wesley & Isaiah. :) It was a good day for all! Gabriel needed a change of scenery and Mommy & Daddy needed to spend some time together.
Wendy is moving at the beginning of May and we will be very sad. This is the first time someone we are truly attached to here moves. (Sarah and Jack left a while back, but we hadn't been here at Drum that long and 1 year old boys don't really feel the loss of each other. You know?) Corban and Gabriel get along really well and love playing together even though Corban is 4 years older than Gabriel. This will be the first time a friend of Gabriel's leaves. At least they will be close to our hometown! They are going to Ft. Knox and we already have plans to meet them when we are home visiting! They even have family friends in Franklin, IN! Yay!
O.k. I better go get in the shower and encourage the husband to get up to get ready for church. I'm not sure he understood me when I was talking about the whole "get up earlier because its Daylight Savings time" nagging session a few minutes ago. Its hard to nag when they are sleeping, you know?
