Last night we watched the G.I. Joe Movie. And might I say that Channing Tatum is hot in a uniform... anywho... During the movie, Jerry kept pointing out the things that they did "wrong" in the movie. At one point, they were shielding themselves from fire on the wrong side of a car. That sort of thing.
I suddenly looked at my husband and thought... "he knows this stuff. He's been trained to do this stuff." Now, I see him come and go in his uniform. I've been in the hangar a handfull of times. But I really do not know what he does all day. I don't know what he did all day in Iraq. I mean... I know what he told me he did. And for the most part I believe him. I just wouldn't be surprised if he leaves things out for my benefit. You know... Like the part where he knows how to kill someone if he needs to.
Even though I live among them, when I see a soldier, I still think of someone who carries a weapon and has to shoot people if they need to. Except Jerry. I don't think of Jerry that way and when something makes me realize that he puts on his uniform for a reason (duh, he's a soldier) and has the same duties, it freaks me out a bit. Not that I'm scared of Jerry. Its just that the thought of Jerry, who is quiet most of the time and likes to play with his kid, being forceful and maybe shooting someone is just weird to me.
Anyway... I'm sure that the other military wives would think I was crazy for not realizing this, so I'm kind of glad no one reads it. But poor Jerry last night had to endure questions from me about his training, etc. and spend some time reassuring me that he does absolutely nothing dangerous since he's just a helicopter mechanic. LOL Poor guy. I think the most difficult part of his military career is dealing with me!
